5 minute rant
Say your job is to make lemonade. Your customer says she wants it kurang manis. So you pluck the lemons from the tree in your garden, peel the lemons, squeeze the lemons, add the sugar but not too much because she wants it kurang manis. Then you give it to your waitress to serve it to her. Then she tells your waitress, “There is not enough plum inside this.”
Some clients are fantastic. They can sit at briefings or presentations, approve everything including creative direction, and then later, turn around and ask why there’s no plum in the lemonade. Makes you wonder if their bodies were at the meetings, which parallel universe were their brains residing?

Serj Tankian and System of a Down
The former is the lead singer of the latter, and he has this awesome solo album which I’m currently obsessing over. Perhaps I’ll grab the CD soon.

Some cool songs by the Borat lookalike from his Elect The Dead album:
- The Unthinking Majority (live performance; vocals are awesome)
- Lie Lie Lie (Infectious tune; read somewhere that it’s a tale about incest, but meant to be humorous)
- Sky Is Over
- Empty Walls (I like how they use the kids in the nursery as metaphors for scenes from the war in Iraq. And having him sit in their midst playing on a toy piano is quirky yet dramatic)
Some stuff by SoaD that’s repeating ad infinitum on my playlist:
- Chop Suey (It’s already achieved like rock anthem status or something)
- Lonely Day (Melancholy stuff)
- Aerials
- B.Y.O.B
Another thing I love about rockers like Ed Ved and Serj aside from their awesome vocals, awesome songs and awesome live performances, is the fact that they use their fame for good causes. They are each social and political activists in their own right, either through their non-profit organizations or the messages in their songs. It really sets them apart from those sellout bands and singers nowadays.

Letting go
After watching a movie centred around death, loneliness and loss, I’m reminded that life is really too short and there are things I should let go of before they become irreparably damaged. I wrote an email to her to say not exactly good bye, but more of a see you later. I think we need to stay on our seperate roads for now. Our paths will cross when they will cross. Until then, I wish her all the happiness she seeks.
Boiling pissed
When I get mad, the anger sort of radiates to include every other thing that makes me mad… like say, smokers, ex-boyfriends, inconsiderate people, etc.
I’m pissed off like you wouldn’t believe right now, and as a result of that, I’m mad at everything and everyone else. I could hardly entertain a friend who happened to call up just now, so I said, with false patience, that I couldn’t talk right now. Because if I have to say anything, it would be to rant about what’s making me so increasingly annoyed every second that passes.
This is compounding the headache I’ve been having as a result of a very hot and humid day.
Boldly going where I’ve not gone before
The kitchen. Lol. Ok, I’ve baked many times before but I’ve pretty much never touched the wok.
Anyway, with a lot of prep beforehand, I think the food turned out alright. It was just something I wanted to do, and appropriate, given the occassion
